TOA KASEI has established the Refining Technology under the investigation of their specific properties and components including even unnecessary impurities such as ash and low molecule Fatty Acids/Alcohols or Ester in raw Carnauba Wax.

Carnauba Wax in general

Carnauba Wax, collected from the back side of leaves of Palm Tree in Northern Brazil, is classified on their quality.
The 1st grade is collected from the young leaves while the 2nd and the 3rd grades are from the normal leaves.

Normally the 1st and the 2nd grades are used in industrial applications, however the application of 3rd grade is very limited such as additives for special inks.

Trend of Application

Meanwhile the application of Carnauba Wax have been drastically changed from car wax, floor wax and textile sizing waxes towards releasing agents, modifier and dispersing agents due to the high needs of functional properties of refined Carnauba Wax.

TOA KASEI has developed and established the technology of "Stabilization of Carnauba Wax" against heat by specific technical "Know-how" of elimination of unnecessary or labile ingredients.
The above respective "Refined Carnauba Wax" is now supplied from our new plant in Osaka.

To supply Carnauba Wax with very low content of "Low-temp. Volatile Matters".
To supply Carnauba Wax with very narrow allowance of "Acid Value" lot by lot.
To supply Carnauba Wax with very sharp distribution of particle size (granular and powder).
To supply Carnauba Wax with the particle size from "Fine to Moderate" size of 15～300μm.
To supply Carnauba Wax with very quick solidification time.
